i just want to focus on love. the day you met. the little things you do together. the moments shared. the feeling felt. the day you realized that the reason you are so happy is because of this one person. i am saying this now. i am a complete and utter mush. i watch romantic movies and always get that warm fuzzy feeling every time they share that special look… and start to smile every time he reaches for her hand… and i lose it when he hugs her and finally gives her that kiss.

Remember these are all listed for free and legally. Legally being the word to focus on. You can go to iTunes and purchase the shows legally, but honestly, it’s a recession and most people who watch from Hulu is in the age group of 17-26 (college kids and recent graduates) meaning we don’t have a lot of money, so who would want to spend what they don’t have.

This is all about to change. Even though there is no definite date (as of right now) that customers will have to start paying to view the content. MSNBC recently had an interview with News Corp. Chairman Rupert Murdoch where he states:
“Are we looking at it with a view of adding subscription services in there and pay-per-view movies? Yes, we are looking at that. No decision has been taken yet,” he said then at an analysts’ conference.

On other websites, there are rumored to want to charge $30 a month. That is more than blockbuster charges for unlimited movies! Also let’s focus on this small part. You need an internet connection to watch these shows/movies. These shows require a fast modem and strong internet connection or else you get a pause, a “buffering”, and skipped content. Nothing kills the movie like stopping and waiting for it to reload. So we will have to pay $30 a month, to watch a show meant to take 28 minutes, which actually takes 35 minutes. Even though 7 extra minutes really is not that bad, just imagine doing that for everything. A conference that is suppose to take an hour, takes 75 minutes, your bus takes 6 extra minutes, your food is not ready on time, it gets annoying.

While Hulu really is one of, if not the best online viewing area, there are still some kinks and personally believe that you should not charge people until all kinks are worked out.

This maybe a vent post because I love watching off Hulu because I don’t have a tivo/dvr and now I have to fork out the extra money for dvr because I don’t want to miss my shows.

Dear Walmart,

There comes a time when you should stop while you’re ahead. There comes a time when you should just say no. And goodness gracious this is the time. Press pause, rewind, and realize that you should just STOP!

Don’t know what I’m talking about? Well, they have ridiculously started selling CASKETS! Could you imagine, going to Walmart to pick a shirt or picture frame and you see a casket. First of all, the horror of having to walk past a casket, immediately think of someone who died or how you are going to die some day. Secondly, we all see kids play around on couches and climb to get games off the top level. We know kids are going to jump in them, scratch them up, and oh forbid, break one. (Walmart sells them from $895 to $2900)

As of right now Walmart sells them online and I have not heard of them being in any stores. Even though I have been to Walmart once in my life before and I barely know what they sell and how the store is arranged, I plan on making a few trips to Walmart to see if this disaster has been brought to the stores.

PS- I want to see how they sell these things. It is not like you can put an ad in the regular flyer saying “20% off casket”. It is like who wants to buy one and store it in their spare bedroom. I sure as hope don’t. Although, it’s true that it would have worked perfectly about a week ago for Halloween.

This year is different. While we are still doing a couple’s costume theme, I decided to buy a costume because I thought I would be too busy. (Ha… unemployment is the complete opposite)This year we will be cop (me) and convict (boyfriend). Hey, I get to hit him with a baton all night, it is so worth it! My mother thinks I was being lazy and told me to start doing stuff around the house, and I unexpectedly listened. I brought some stuff up to my mom’s work room and noticed all these Halloween-ish colored papers that I immediately thought of using to make cards. (of course after I bought about 10 for my family which I am now sending to some college friends) I brought papers, stencils, glitter, glue, punches, stamps, ink, pencils, watercolor pens, etc… all downstairs to my living and began to sketch my cards. My first one was a great etching and that took me hours. Yes hours because I have to sketch the drawing then take the knife to it and then back it and trim it and then got told to make it an ornament for our Halloween tree (don’t ask, but it’s true, I have a Halloween tree) Currently, I have only made 6 cards (it’s only been 3 days since I started) but they all are different and at this moment the mummy is my favorite. (Pictures will be put up when I send them out)

As a surprise when I got home today my mom greeted me with new stickers (the cool looking ones that really take cards to a whole new level) and papers. I have some great new sketches of haunted houses, bats, ghosts, and trees with “scardy cats” in them.

Over the next ten days or so I expect to be busy keeping my living room a mess with the amount of stuff scattered around the room. And if anyone has any cute ideas for cards, send me a message because there is nothing that I won’t try.

PS- decorated my house (only on the inside because “I’m too old to decorate the outside) for the first time in like 6 years. I love decorations and I am so excited for Halloween.

Apparently Hugh Hefner has a sense of humor. So much so that he is willing to make his magazine become a joke. I support what it was before and now I think it is just a ploy to get comic lovers into girls boobs.

Swisher is also doing another thing to raise money for cancer. He recently just started to sell “swish T” t shirts. ALL MONEY GOES TO A CHILDREN’S CHARITY! CHILDREN! Let’s just think of the poor kids here! (Please please please go to http://nickswisher.net to learn about more. More importantly just buy one. They may not be the greatest looking shirts but come on it’s a t shirt that u can wear to bed and it is for a great cause!) It is a simple $25 donation to help save the kids.

Anyways, Carey raised his initial offer by saying he would donate $100,000 if he received 100,000 followers to his Twitter account by November 1st. He’s currently at just above 68,000 — which means he’s on track to easily pass that goal. Even better, however, was his surprise statement yesterday to a CBS reporter that he would up the ante from $100,000 to a cool $1 million if he gets the same amount of followers by midnight on December 31. If he doesn’t reach a million followers, the donation will be prorated: If there are 500,000 followers when the clock strikes midnight, then $500,000 will be given to LiveStrong.
Once again, we have an incredible charity fundraiser taking place on Twitter — and all you have to do is follow Drew Carey. I would hope that if millions of people can follow Ashton Kutcher or Oprah, that they would easily earn a dollar for charity by taking part in this. Let’s hope the celebrity twitter machine rallies around this effort as the year draws to an end to put Carey over the top.

The news is true. Jon & Kate Plus 8 is no more.

Kate isn't the only one to dump Jon

TLC just announced that the show is going to focus on Kate and her struggles as a single mom raising 8 children. Could this be because of the lack of father figure that Jon has already become? Who knows, but if you follow Jon on twitter you notice that he rarely mentions his kids (about 6 times he mentions he misses them out of the 36 tweets he had). Most of his tweets are about “MUST Follow @XXX has amazing shots posted from the Emmy’s even cool photos of people at the after parties” or “Great time with mom in Vegas, thank you to everyone who helped make it fun, especially Alex and Kevin from MGM!” He talks a lot about where he goes to promote the places, VMAs, After Parties, MGM, etc… Kate is the opposite where she writes mostly about her kids. (I currently cannot find her twitter… did she delete it? Because all the ones that show up seem to be fake ones).

But anyways, many are convinced that Kate is the better parent and should have full custody. I believe a child needs both parents but I have never been involved in any sort of divorce so I will not give my opinion on this. But we all know that the children have a tough time (constantly in the tabloids, trash talk about their family, parents getting a divorce, having to give up both dogs, and oh yea, having 7 siblings besides themselves!) I feel bad for the family, but for the show, I think it is best for it to become Kate plus 8 because:
1) Jon barely does anything on it or plans stuff. He took them fishing on their property and had a bon fire for the older kids. OH WOW!
2) Kate takes them all on separate trips (little boys, little girls, big girls) to what they really want to do
3) Kate gets people behind her. Jon is giving the family a bad reputation (or that is at least how the tabloids make it seem)
4) Not many men want to watch the show. TLC is for women and women want to watch how another mother can overcome her struggles.

Come November, Kate plus 8 is ready to air. And I am one who looks forward to it!

P.S.- Jon now asked to hold off on the divorce. Oh please! All he is trying to do is stack his claim into the money that his kids are making!

A few weekends ago we heard about the “attack” and “rape” that happened at Hofstra University in Hempstead on Long Island. This attack and rape were soon to be discovered to be false accusations, which is truly a deep sadden moment that all have to now remember. Hofstra’s reputation is now ruined and let us not even forget about the men who thought they were just having some fun with a girl. Do not get me wrong, I do not approve of what they did, but it was their choice and if that is what they enjoy, then so be it. These accusations were proven to be false, and the accuser has been let free. Yes, let free, as in NO LEGAL REPORTS OR CHARGES! The accuser’s name is Danmel Ndonye. I think it is very important for me to include this information because of what she has done to others. The men’s names and faces were shown on television for all to see, his family, friends, neighbors, strangers, absolutely everyone! Even though we all now that these men are innocent, I will recognize their faces as being the rapists.

One person representing the case states:
“Ndonye has already been kicked out of college for the false report and has been hiding out since. She’s refused to talk about her recanted claims she was tied up and gang raped inside a dormitory bathroom after a video of the incident emerged and shot holes in her original assertions.

Prosecutors said she cracked and changed her story when they told her about a videotape.
“The turning point was when she was confronted with the fact that there may exist a video of some or all of the incident. The woman began to reveal the truth about what happened,” Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice said.

Investigators said the video showed no ropes, no ties and no force.”

Remeber this liar

Please remember the name of Danmel Ndonye. DANMEL NDONYE. It is someone who has given false hope to those who have been actually raped. The worst part was, was that others from the university have come out since Danmel’s rape to say that they also were raped. (In a way it is good that the others are getting help, revealing tragic stories of what happened to them, and to help prevent this from happening in the future.) But I think what Danmel has done is going to really have people take a step back when they hear someone was raped. There is going to be a look of “is she telling the truth”, “is she exaggerating”, and “do I really want to get involved with this”. Sadly, Danmel was once considered brave and now she is lying scum in my eyes because she now regrets the video and all the gang sex she willing was apart of.

A few things to remember before you want to start your flirting:
have a picture that has your face clearly
don’t be in any relationship even if it is with just a friend
don’t ever ever ever put “anything you can get”
careful with your photos (especially ones that show you hooking up with people).

Most people I have talked to agree that poking is the first way to initiate the flirting. It is something small that can show interest.

Next would be a small joke about the party the night before. Make it short and sweet but make sure you attract some attention. This does not mean start off with a racist joke; rather stick to who you are. It is a great way to get a feel of how the person sees you. If you don’t hear back within about a within or up to two days, consider it over. Don’t talk to your friends about “what can this mean”. When in high school, college, or even being a recent graduate, we all check our email constantly and notice when we have a new post. So please, save your friends the drama, and move on.

After you talk to this special someone a few times over wall posts, messages, or IMs, it is safe to be able to invite them to an upcoming event. Personally, I would not ask out anyone over facebook, but a way to get around this is to create an event and invite them as well as your other friends. Facebook is for friends, not a dating website. So make it seem like it could be fun to make them want to come and to make sure you don’t seem like a creeper.

If that person accepts, the rest is up to you. But remember, you can always go back to facebook for a quick few flirting lines to remind them that you are thinking of them.
